Packers vs Eagles Picks Week 1
Packers +128
For those that missed it, the Packers lit up the second half of the 2023 NFL season. From Weeks 10-18 Matt Lafleur's squad ranked third in expected points added, success rate and dropback epa. Love and company ran roughshod through the tail end of their schedule and lit up the Dallas Cowboys in Jerry World in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
Meanwhile the Eagles did the opposite, starting the season 10-1 before losing five of their last six games and being blown out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs. Philadelphia finished just 7-9-2 ATS last season, including 6-7-2 mark as favorites. The City of Brotherly Love's favorites brought in Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator and re-signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson after seeing their defense crater in the second half. General Manager extraordinaire wrestled promising pass-rusher Bryce Huff away from the Jets and drafted Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell to shore up the backend further. He also brought in Saquon Barkley to make the Eagles backfield one of the NFL's most dangerous.
But, the Eagles also lost stalwart center Jason Kelce and will be introducing new schemes on both sides of the football as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore takes the reigns.
There will be growing pains on both sides, but the Packers went 8-4 ATS as an underdog last season, and 8-2 ATS with equal rest. Lafleur has proven himself to be one of the NFL's best play-callers, and we know Jordan Love is capable of lighting up an inexperienced Eagles secondary. Plus, the Packers now have battering ram Josh Jacobs in the backfield, who I think has a massive year behind an improved offensive line.

Packers vs Eagles Prop Pick
Josh Jacobs Touchdown +120
Josh Jacobs has a nose for the endzone with 46 touchdowns in 73 career games. Considering the fact that those came behind a less-than-stellar Raiders offensive line, with mostly average quarterback play, and Jacobs is in store for another massive season in his first year in Green Bay.
The former Alabama star ran for 1653 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022, and I expect him to have the same type on impact for the Packers. Despite the beef on their defensive line, the Eagles allowed 13 rushing touchdowns last season. Linebacker is a weak link for Philadelphia and Fangio's passive scheme rarely brings help to stop the run. Bet on Jacobs to find the endzone in Week 1.
