Another exciting NFL betting card this week is highlighted by a matchup between the AFC’s two five-win teams, the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field. The Sportsbook will have the best record in the AFC and an inside track to the conference’s top seed.
New England is a 2.5-point road favorite at Sportsbook as they have looked like the sharper team to this point. The Patriots have dominated this series in recent years, going 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against the Steelers.
The only double-digit favorite on the board at the moment is the New York Giants -10 at home against the Miami Dolphins at Sportsbook, but they will in all likelihood be joined by the New Orleans Saints when their line against the St. Louis Rams is released.
Totals betting was split down the middle last week at 6-6-1. New England at Pittsburgh and Dallas at Philadelphia have the highest total on the board this week, each currently set at 51 at Sportsbook.
Underdogs held the slight edge in Week 7 with a 7-5-1 ATS record while road teams were 7-6 SU.
Key matchups with Week 8 Odds courtesy of Sportsbook:
Colts +9.5 at Tennessee – Indianapolis is coming off one of the worst losses in NFL history (62-7). They’re 5-0 SU in their last five games against Tennessee, but needless to say, this is a much different Colts team without Peyton Manning.
Browns +9 at San Francisco – San Francisco has been one of the season’s biggest surprises at 5-1 SU, and will look to keep the ball rolling this week. The 49ers are 5-0-1 ATS this season, but were only the favorite in two of those games.
Cowboys +3 at Philadelphia – Philadelphia needs a win badly to stay in the mix for the NFC East. Coach Andy Reid is a perfect 12-0 SU coming off a bye week in his tenure as the Eagles head coach.
Chargers -3.5 at Kansas City – After Kansas City looked down and out after an 0-3 start, the Chiefs are in position to take a share of the AFC West lead with an upset win Monday night. San Diego is 7-1 SU in their last eight against the Chiefs.
