How much respect do oddsmakers have for the Seattle Seahawks?
Despite an 0-2 start to the 2015 season, which our database analysis tells us all but dooms a team from even making the playoffs, the Seahawks remain favorites to win their division and remain the third betting choice to win Super Bowl 50.
“True they have started 0-2, but they have started with two very tough road tasks in St. Louis and Green Bay,” said Kevin Bradley, sportsbook manager at Sportsbook.lv, who re-set the NFL futures Tuesday.
“Seattle remains a solid team with a lot of fan and betting support and the fact the Colts rallied just last year from an 0-2 start means bettors aren’t easily scared off the Seahawk bandwagon.”
Cards Remain Behind Seahawks on NFC West Odds
Arizona is 2-0, but couldn’t leapfrog the Seahawks on the Sportsbook NFC West futures list. They remained a -125 favorite, while the Cardinals were +210 (wager $100, turn a $210 profit). The Niners were last at 12-1.
On the NFC conference futures, the Packers are a 2-1 bet, with the Seahawks next at 5-1. Another 0-2 team, Philadelphia is fourth on this list at 10-1, which may speak more to the quality of the NFC in general than to anyone’s faith in the Eagles.
And Super Bowl 50 futures show the Seahawks at 10-1, behind only the Packers and Patriots, according to Sportsbook.
Seattle gets a cupcake in Week 3, hosting the Chicago Bears in their home opener. But it's not a point spread cupcake as the Bears are getting 16 points from most sportsbooks.
The OddsShark Computer is predicting a 29-15 win for Seattle, which would push 14 points.
