2020 NFL Season: Player O/U Stats Betting Props

There are almost 80 OVER/UNDER player props for regular-season stats like passing yards, receiving yards and touchdowns available at Bovada and the online shop is featuring some of the biggest names in the game.
Players like Tom Brady, DeAndre Hopkins, Stefon Diggs and Teddy Bridgewater who have changed teams are highlighted along with 2020 NFL MVP candidates Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.
You can even bet on O/U passing stats for LSU Tigers QB Joe Burrow, who was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Let’s look at some of the new faces in new places and focus on other notable 2020 O/U season props that bettors need to be aware of:
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Seeing Tom Brady NOT in a New England Patriots uniform this season may be the most jarring sight for football bettors, but oddsmakers think he may have a statistical resurgence in the Sunshine State. Brady’s O/U for touchdown passes is 29.5 and for passing yards is 4,225.5.
Brady failed to top 30 passing touchdowns in three of his last four seasons with the Pats and managed only 4,057 passing yards a year ago. But in Tampa Bay, he has stud wide receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, who each topped 1,000 receiving yards in 2019 with Jameis “Interception” Winston throwing the ball. Those receivers have identical O/U props for touchdowns, set at 8.5; Godwin’s OVER/UNDER for receiving yards is at 1,200.5 while Evans’ is at 1,150.5.
Here are the current O/U season stats betting lines for the trio of Brady, Evans and Godwin:

DeAndre Hopkins and Stefon Diggs
Two of the top wide receivers in the NFL, DeAndre Hopkins was thought to be a cornerstone of the Houston Texans offense until he was dealt to the Arizona Cardinals, while Stefon Diggs was a key player for the Minnesota Vikings who was then traded to the Buffalo Bills.
Hopkins may not have had eye-popping stats in Houston but as the top option for Arizona QB Kyler Murray, sportsbooks have set his O/U for touchdowns and receiving yards at 8.5 and 1,125.5 respectively. For reference, he’s surpassed 1,125 receiving yards and had double-digit touchdowns in two of the last three seasons with the Texans.
As for Diggs, he enjoyed his two best statistical seasons with Kirk Cousins at quarterback, topping 1,000 yards receiving both years and combining to catch 15 touchdowns. His O/U season stat lines in Buffalo suggest he will continue his playmaking ways in Upstate New York with his receiving yards at 975.5 and touchdowns at 6.5.

Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson
Arguably the two most electrifying players in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and the Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson are primed to be back on top of the leaderboards for passing yards and touchdowns.
Although Mahomes had a “down” year in 2019 (he still won the Super Bowl) with 4,031 passing yards and 26 touchdowns, oddsmakers have set his O/U line for passing yards at 4,699.5 and for touchdowns at 36.5 for 2020. If he resembles anything close to his 2018 form when he put up 5,097 passing yards and 50 touchdowns, he should easily surpass those numbers in Kansas City’s offense.
Jackson, on the other hand, may not have the arm talent of Mahomes when it comes to passing, but his O/U line of 3,199 passing yards and 26.5 touchdowns implies he could have another breakout campaign. For reference, he finished 2019 with 3,127 passing yards and 36 touchdowns and heads into the 2020 campaign with no key losses on offense.

Understanding NFL O/U Season Stats Prop Odds
When you check out your sportsbook of choice for NFL betting props like OVER/UNDER passing yards for Tom Brady, you’ll see prop odds that look something like this:
OVER 4225 Passing Yards -115
UNDER 4225 Passing Yards -115
To bet on these odds, you would be making a prop bet – more on that in a bit. In this case, there is no clear favorite like there would be on a moneyline or spread bet.
If you think Tom Brady will pass for more than 4,225 yards, and you bet $100 on that option, you’d get a payout of $185 – you get your $100 back along with your winnings of $85. Our Odds Calculator will show you how much you’d win based on the odds and amount bet.
What is a Prop Bet?
A prop is a bet on the occurrence or non-occurrence of certain outcomes that may not necessarily determine the outcome of a game. You can make a bet like this as soon as the odds are announced. Oddsmakers will move the lines as news comes out about a player’s offensive game plan and the team/talent around him. If you see odds you like, place your bet immediately, otherwise, the action could move so much that you’ll barely make a profit or maybe even not make one at all.
