Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks are favored over the Minnesota Vikings in NFL betting odds Sunday.

Wilson, Seahawks Can’t Afford Consecutive Defeats

Both the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings find themselves reeling after suffering similar fates in Week 2 shootout losses. The Seahawks choked away a healthy lead while the Vikings lost by a single point on a missed field goal. With both offenses given license to score, the difference between the two should be Seattle’s experienced defense.

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The margins are expectedly narrow in this one. Although Minnesota is 0-2, the Vikings still deserve our respect. As the home team with a high-powered offense, they cannot be counted out of this one. Seattle as a 2.5-point favorite has mouth-watering potential. The Seahawks nearly scored 30 points in consecutive games to start the season and have a fantastic shot of doing so here.

Seattle News & Notes

Seattle’s offense never fails to provide excitement, approaching the game with a reckless abandon that turns the head of just about every football fan. Unfortunately, that play style came back to bite them in Week 2. They engaged in a shootout with a similarly gifted offense in the Titans and ultimately lost the battle.

Despite two rushing touchdowns, Chris Carson and the rest of Seattle’s ground game was quiet against the Titans. This will likely continue to be the case against the Vikings. Don’t expect Seattle to utilize the ground game to gain yardage in key moments.

Seattle’s ability through the air and Minnesota’s lackluster secondary makes for a complete mismatch. We can expect another productive day from Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

Seattle’s defense is the key to victory in this one, averaging three sacks per game to tie for fifth-best in the league. Vikings QB Kirk Cousins has yet to face this kind of pressure in 2021.

Minnesota News & Notes

In Week 2, the Vikings were torn apart by rookie Cardinals receiver Rondale Moore. It’s safe to say that Kyler Murray is good at what he does. However, the rookie wideout looked like a superstar thanks to Minnesota’s inexperienced secondary.

Dealing with the best wide receiver tandem in the league is going to be near impossible for this Minnesota unit. Metcalf and Lockett are going to be an absolute nightmare for the Vikings.

It isn’t all bad news for Minnesota. The offense has looked stellar through two weeks and Kirk Cousins has yet to throw an interception. What’s more, their focus through the air isn’t as single-minded as we thought it would be.

Despite having multiple weapons, albeit including a less than fully fit Dalvin Cook, the Vikings offense is likely to take a step back this week against an experienced Seahawks unit.

Staff Betting Pick: Seahawks -2.5 (-107)

Although choosing the OVER in this tilt is appealing, we’ll go with the favorites at -2.5. Both teams know how to put points on the board but only one knows how to prevent them, last week aside.
