Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Early bettors were quick to jump on the Seahawks as 4.5-point road favorites in Philadelphia, bumping this line up to Seattle -5.5. The total saw even more movement toward the UNDER, moving the line from 53.5 points down to 50.5 points. The UNDER is 5-0 in the last five games between Seattle and Philadelphia.

Seattle News & Notes

Seattle snapped a two-game losing streak in its Thursday Night Football showdown with the Arizona Cardinals, picking up a 28-21 win as a 3-point favorite to improve to 7-3 SU and 6-4 ATS on the season.

Despite the lack of fans in most stadiums, the Seahawks have had a pretty extreme home-road split this year, going 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS at home and 2-3 SU and ATS on the road.

Russell Wilson looked sharp in the win over Arizona, going 23-for-28 with 197 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 42 rushing yards and no interceptions. The return of starting running back Chris Carson should help open up the offense a bit as opposing defenses will need to respect the running game more with Carson and Carlos Hyde both back from injuries.

Philadelphia News & Notes

The Eagles lost to the Cleveland Browns for the first time since 1994 on Sunday, dropping to 3-6-1 SU and 3-7 ATS on the season in the process. Fans and members of the media were calling for Carson Wentz to be benched after the loss. The struggling quarterback threw two interceptions, including a pick-six, in the 22-17 loss and now owns a dismal 14-to-14 touchdown-to-interception ratio so far in 2020.

Whether Wentz’s struggles are injury-related or mental, it’s getting more and more difficult to ignore his troubling regression. Philadelphia used its second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on quarterback Jalen Hurts; another bad game from Wentz against Seattle might force Doug Pederson’s hand.

The Eagles enter this week’s action with a half-game lead in the NFC East over the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Washington, who are all sitting at 3-7 SU.

Betting Pick: Seattle -5.5

Seattle has had a long week to prepare for a pretty bad Eagles team. The Seahawks’ recent road woes are a bit concerning, but this trip to Philadelphia should help.
