Narrowly missing out on a fifth straight win in Week 9 because of some shoddy coaching, the Seattle Seahawks will try to get their crusade for another NFC West crown back on track in Arizona on Thursday. Books have the defending division champs as big road chalk for the TNF contest but if you believe the stats and trends, that might not be enough to keep Pete Carroll’s crew from covering.
Seattle has shown the great ability to rebound over the years after screwing the pooch as a favorite so don’t be shocked when Carroll redeems himself by spanking Bruce Arians and the division rival Cardinals on Thursday night.
Additionally, the ’Hawks are 6-0 straight up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six prime-time games and the Cards are just 2-10 against the spread in their last 12 games after a win. Seattle thrives under the lights and so does Russell Wilson. He has a career 106.5 quarterback rating in prime-time games and he’s led his team to 17 wins in 21 NFL starts at night.
Not only are the Seahawks good, the Cardinals are awful. The only teams ’Zona has beaten this season are the Colts, Buccaneers and 49ers twice. With a +21 winning margin in those games, the Cards could easily have one or zero wins to their name right now instead of the four they’ve somehow managed.
When they’ve played teams that are .500-plus this season? The Redbirds are 0-4 SU and ATS with a -90 point differential – brutal. Expect the Cards to be exposed as the scam artists they really are in the Week 10 icebreaker.
