Sunday Divisional Playoff Odds

After going undefeated at home in the regular season can the New England Patriots remain perfect when they open their postseason run in Foxboro on Sunday against the New York Jets as 9-point favorites at Sportsbook.ag?

The Jets made it into the Divisional Round with a close 17-16 win over Indianapolis last week as a 2-point underdog. Nick Folk kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired, and the Jets' running game carried the offense behind 82 yards and two touchdowns from LaDainian Tomlinson.

Mark Sanchez had an unimpressive game for the Jets last week, completing 18 of 31 passes for 189 yards with an interception, and he'll need to improve upon that to keep up with Tom Brady and the Patriots. Just look at the regular season matchups between the Jets and Pats. [ Jets vs Patriots Matchup Report ]

In Week 2 Sanchez outplayed Brady with three touchdown passes in the Jets' 28-14 win as a 3-point home underdog. Later on in the season Sanchez tanked with no touchdowns and three interceptions as the Patriots hammered the Jets 45-3 as a 3-point home favorite on the NFL betting odds.

Brady's performance in the rout? Only four touchdown passes.

In the last 10 matchups between the Jets and Patriots it's pretty even with New England holding a slight edge at 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS. However, when the two AFC East rivals meet in New England the Patriots hold a considerable edge. In their last 10 homes games against the Jets the Pats are 7-3 SU, but they're still only 5-5 ATS.

In their last 18 games at home overall the Patriots are 17-1 SU and 10-7-1 ATS. That lone SU loss came against the Ravens in last year's playoffs.

Also on Sunday the Seahawks look for another monumental upset when they take on the Bears as a 10-point road underdog at Bovada. Last week Seattle was a 10-point home underdog when they shocked the Saints and the NFL betting community in a 41-36 win. [ Bears vs Seahawks Matchup Report ]

Matt Hasselbeck turned back the clock with four touchdown passes and Marshawn Lynch showcased an amazing 67-yard TD run while rushing for 131 yards on 19 carries.

The Seahawks have already delivered a surprising upset versus the Bears this season. In Week 6 Seattle traveled to Chicago as a 6-point underdog and defeated the Bears 23-20. Hasselbeck and Lynch each had a TD and the Seattle defense made Jay Cutler a non-factor while limiting him to 290 yards passing and no touchdowns.

The biggest thing that could keep the Seahawks from another big upset this weekend is their horrendous road record. Seattle was only 2-6 SU on the road this season and they only have three wins in their last 17 road games. Seattle was also 3-14 ATS in those games, and in their last 10 games as a double-digit underdog they are 1-9 SU and 3-7 ATS.
