Travis Kelce has been the Chiefs' top offensive weapon during this dynastic run.
He may be 35, but the tight end still has the ability to change this Eagles vs Chiefs matchup with a big day and Kelce's Super Bowl 59 props will be some of the most wagered-on markets ahead of the game.
I've got three Travis Kelce Super Bowl 59 props ahead of the Chiefs vs Eagles meeting:
Dallas Goedert More Rec Yards Than Travis Kelce (+115) at Sportsbook
Market | Kelce | Goedert |
Receiving Yards | -167 | +115 |
Odds as of Feb 9 at Sportsbook
There are a few different reasons to take the plus money on Goedert to best Kelce's receiving total in the Super Bowl.
For starters, the Philly TE has been far better lately. If you put Kelce and Goedert's last five games head-to-head, the Eagles' tight end has the higher receiving total in three of the matchups. Goedert averaged 56 yards per game in that stretch to Kelce's 55.
But, defense is the biggest differentiator here. The Chiefs allowed the MOST tight end yardage in football this season at 1,191 yards to the position. The Eagles allowed the LEAST, at just 591 yards.
Travis Kelce Longest Reception UNDER 19.5 Yards (-110) at Sportsbook
Market | OVER | UNDER |
Receiving Yards | O19.5 (-120) | U19.5 (-110) |
Odds as of Feb 9 at Sportsbook
Travis Kelce used to be a big-play beast, but that's just not the case anymore. This season he had a longest catch over 20 yards in just eight of the 10 contests.
Despite posting a 49-yard catch against the Texans in the Divisional Round, Kelce has been held without a catch OVER 19.5 yards in five of his last six games.
As I mentioned above, this Eagles defense is as tough as they come against his position, too. Philly let up just 34.7 receiving yards per game to tight ends this year, so rattling off more than half that in a single catch is a tough task.
Travis Kelce To Retire After Super Bowl
I haven't seen odds for this market yet, but as the exotic lines and niche markets pop up close to Super Bowl 59 I'm sure we'll get some lines at this at NFL sportsbooks.
I'm probably only betting this one if we get odds above +250, but I think there's a real shot the 35-year-old calls it quits after this year. He's played 12 seasons in the NFL, winning three Super Bowls (maybe four) and ensuring he's a future Hall of Famer. If the Chiefs win a third-straight ring, what else does this guy have to play for?
There have been some recent quotes that indicate Kelce is considering hanging them up, too. He's talked about his pain with the Wall Street Journal saying "the 10 surgeries I’ve had that I still feel every single surgery to this day.” His brother, Jason, recently said "This is when you’re going to start knowing, whenever this time comes, and you need to walk away,” on a recent episode of the Kelce brothers' podcast, too.
If you can find juicy odds on this prop, it could be a fun one to nail after the Super Bowl.
