The NFL machine never stops, and in the wake of the NFL draft, it’s as good a time as any to look ahead to Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Arizona, and pick some favorites in Super Bowl odds.

Remember, the Bengals were +15000 to win it all just after Super Bowl 55 and the Rams were +1200. This could quite literally be the most attractive odds some of these teams get all year.

Oddsmakers at Bovada have updated their odds to win Super Bowl 57, and the Buffalo Bills lead the way with +650 odds to win the big game at State Farm Stadium on February 12, 2023.

Here’s a look at the Super Bowl 57 odds with some of our best bets and predictions:

Why The Rams/Bengals Are Not Favored To Repeat In Super Bowl Odds

For the Bengals, it wouldn’t be completely surprising if they didn’t come close to the Super Bowl next season. It’s not because they aren’t talented. It’s not because they don’t have a top quarterback. It’s because of the competition in the AFC.

Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and Lamar Jackson all still play in the AFC and Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson were added to the group this offseason. And that list doesn’t include 2021’s No. 1-seeded Titans or Bill Belichick’s Patriots.

It’s a loaded conference, and although we think Joe Burrow could be as good as any other QB in the AFC, it’s hard to say with any certainty that the Bengals will get as close to a title as they were this past season.

The Rams have a great chance to come out of the NFC again with Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay still in place. The team did lose some key pieces in Odell Beckham Jr., Robert Woods, Von Miller, starting cornerback Darious Williams and two starting offensive linemen, but they added Bobby Wagner, Allen Robinson and a few others.

Top to bottom, the Rams roster probably isn’t quite as good as their championship team and might be just a tick below Tampa’s in the NFC, but the champs still have the third-best Super Bowl odds in the league.

Best Super Bowl Long-Shot Bets

Right after the Super Bowl, we loved Denver (+1800) and Tampa Bay (+2200) as long shots in Super Bowl odds because they both had quality rosters with big questions at quarterback. But with Wilson joining Denver and Tom Brady deciding a few weeks with his family was enough, both teams lost a ton of value on those bets.

The Broncos still have pretty attractive odds at +1600 with one of the better rosters in the league, but there are a couple other teams we have our eye on as good long-shot bets.

It feels like a lot of people are forgetting how good the Ravens have been in recent years. They always have a good defense and have one of the best 10 or so quarterbacks in the league in former MVP Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens were decimated by injury last season and still managed an 8-9 record, and we think with some health luck they should easily be in the mix in the AFC. By all accounts, they made several great draft picks as well, including first-round picks at safety and center who should be immediate starters and a second-round edge player, David Ojabo, who only fell out of the first due to health reasons. That’s worth betting on at +2200.

Pittsburgh is interesting at +6000 because of the upside of their quarterback position. The Steelers were the only team to pick a QB in the first round this season, and it’s likely rookie Kenny Pickett plays the majority of the games for Pittsburgh this year.

Pickett is an older prospect who doesn’t need the seasoning a younger rookie QB would, and his upside is higher than incumbent Mitchell Trubisky’s. If Pickett plays well right away, or at least better than Ben Roethlisberger did last season, the Steelers have enough talent on both sides of the ball to be a legitimate threat.

Best Bet: Tampa Bay (+700)/Buffalo (+650)

This early in the process, all of the teams have attractive odds with so much that can happen between now and February 2023. And though there are some nice long-shot picks on the board, betting on those teams requires a lot of things to fall into place perfectly. And that is not a guarantee.

But the Bucs and Bills are ready to win right now and have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations. Both teams geared their drafts toward players who will help right away and both will also likely add veteran players throughout the season to fortify their rosters.

That’s why the best bet right now (along with sprinkling some cash on a long shot or two) is to wager on one of the teams we KNOW will be good. Both Tampa Bay and Buffalo could have easily won the Super Bowl last season and should be top contenders again next year. These might be the best odds they ever get.

When it comes to betting on the NFL, odds are available before teams take their first regular-season snaps. You can even bet on a potential Super Bowl winner in August. Certain squads will always be contenders, especially if they won the previous year.

When bookmakers set the lines, they look at offseason roster moves, coaching changes and past on-field performance. To bet on Super Bowl odds, you’d make a futures bet.

What Is An NFL Futures Bet?

This is a bet in which you would look at the Super Bowl odds, weeks or sometimes months in advance of the big game, and decide which team you think will win. Let’s say you want to make a futures bet today. At your sportsbook of choice, the Super Bowl odds might look something like this:

  • Kansas City Chiefs -300
  • New Orleans Saints +550
  • Green Bay Packers +900
  • Buffalo Bills +1000
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1100

If this were a moneyline bet, you’d be able to see which team is the clear favorite because it would have a minus sign beside its moneyline odds (-). For Super Bowl futures, the team with the lowest Super Bowl odds is favored to win the NFL championship, and the rest are underdogs.

Let’s say you feel strongly about the Saints and believe they’re going to win it all. If you were to bet $100 on them and they did triumph, you’d get a payout of $650 – your original $100 is returned along with your winnings of $550. Our Super Bowl Odds Calculator will show you how much you’d win based on the odds and amount bet.

The Super Bowl odds change throughout the season as key players get injured, trades happen and coaches get fired. Line movements for NFL futures happen weekly, so if you see Super Bowl odds you like, it’s best to bet on them ASAP. The Packers may be +900 to win the Super Bowl in October but after a surge in November their Super Bowl odds could jump to +400 and you’ll make less money than you would if you’d bet them at +900.
