The Arizona Cardinals host the Tennessee Titans in Week 14 and the struggling Cards have continued to come up short. After beating Jacksonville in Week 12 to keep their playoff hopes on life-support, they got rolled by the Rams and now welcome a Titans team that is 8-4 SU. These two teams seem to be going in completely opposite directions and Tennessee opened as the slight favorite at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
This season can’t end soon enough for the Cardinals. Injuries across the board have sapped them of their explosiveness and they’ve become an afterthought in the NFC after playing in the championship game only two years ago. Blaine Gabbert is doing his best (that should be on his player profile) with the tools at his disposal but when the Cards’ starting running back is KerSportsbook “The Frog” Williams, it can be expected for the rushing attack to be non-existent. Arizona currently ranks dead last in the NFL averaging just under 73 rushing yards per game and ranks 24th in points per game at 18.4. It would be hard to justify laying any money on the Cardinals going forward.
The Titans have climbed back to the top of the AFC South and while they’ve been a great home bet, they’ve been subpar on the road at 3-3 and have dropped some clunkers to teams they should dominate (Miami, Houston). This game may come down to how Marcus Mariota plays. The Titans quarterback has thrown nine of his 12 interceptions on the road this season and only three touchdowns. While the expectation should be for the Titans to dominate the Cardinals, it shouldn’t shock anyone if the Titans fall short.
The total opened at 44 and OVER could be a great wager for bettors. Tennessee allows over 24 points per game while Arizona allows over 25. The OVER has also hit in Cardinals’ games three straight times.
