Texans battle Jaguars in Week 12 odds

The Houston Texans, who have made the playoffs the last two seasons, have lost eight games in a row to fall out of playoff contention for this season.

Houston is now down to trying to figure out whether or not it will hang on to its head coach, and who it might use for a quarterback next season.

This week the 2-8 Texans host the 1-9 Jacksonville Jaguars in one of the first “Toilet Bowls” of this NFL season, Sunday at Reliant Stadium (1 pm ET, CBS).

Houston has lost its last four games with Case Keenum at quarterback, but those four losses have come by a total of 12 points.

Jacksonville, meanwhile, couldn't quite back up its first victory of the season two weeks ago, losing at home to Arizona Sunday 27-14.

Both these teams are just 2-8 ATS this season. The Texans have won the last five games in this divisional rivalry.

In the early betting most books were chalking Houston at -10 over the Jags, which has to be one of the biggest spreads ever enjoyed by a 2-8 team. That's how bad the Jaguars are.

Supporters of the Jaguars have seen them go 1-9 and 2-8 ATS so far this season, while the Texans are at 2-8 and 2-8 ATS. In totals betting, the Texans are 7-3, while the Jaguars are 6-4.
