Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Browns opened as 6.5-point favorites over Washington and have since been bet up to 7-point favorites at home. The total has dropped 1.5 points from its opener of 45.5 down to 44 points. Cleveland is 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in its last five games as a betting favorite.

Washington News & Notes

Washington opened its season with an impressive performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, erasing a 17-0 deficit with 27 straight points to win 27-17 as 7-point underdogs.

But the team didn’t have much of an answer for Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals as Murray collected 286 passing yards and a touchdown while rushing for 67 yards and two more scores in a 30-15 win to drop Washington to 1-1 SU and ATS on the season.

Dwayne Haskins Jr. ranks 30th in the NFL with 6.3 yards per pass attempt and 32nd in the league in completion rate at 56.3 percent. The second-year starter hasn’t thrown an interception yet in 2020, but his 401 passing yards and two passing touchdowns leave plenty to be desired. Washington would love to see some progress out of its young quarterback in this rebuilding year.

Cleveland News & Notes

The Browns scored a touchdown on their first possession of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday to take a 7-3 lead that they never surrendered. Cleveland led by as many as 15 points before eventually settling for a 35-30 win, frustrating Browns backers who were holding on to Cleveland -6 tickets.

But for the Browns, it was an important win to avoid a disastrous 0-2 SU start after losing to the Baltimore Ravens 38-6 in their season opener.

Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 32 combined carries and Hunt added another touchdown in the receiving game. This dynamic backfield duo is going to give opposing teams fits this season when the Browns are able to secure an early lead.

Betting Pick: Cleveland -7

Washington’s defense struggled with Kyler Murray and Kenyan Drake in the running game last week. Chubb and Hunt should feast on this defense to help Cleveland secure a win and cover at home.
