  • In what’s shaping up to be an instant classic, the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs will collide in the Week 4 edition of Monday Night Football with the eyes of the nation solely upon them.

    Sportsbook opened the Redskins as 6.5-point road underdogs with a total of 49.5.

    Washington is riding a high right now after recording its second straight win by handily beating down the Oakland Raiders 27-10 in Sunday Night Football. Perceived by many to be a trendy preseason Super Bowl pick, the Raiders couldn’t handle the Redskins’ vastly improved defense as the unit sacked quarterback Derek Carr four times while holding Oakland’s running backs to 32 yards. 

    Kirk Cousins continues to put all of the offseason contract drama in the rear-view mirror, as the signal-caller connected on 25 of his 30 throws for 365 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Chris Thompson had a career night against the silver and black by combining for 188 total yards and one score. 

    If the Redskins are going to get the job done this time around, however, they’ll need to exorcise their demons vs the Chiefs. Washington has been downright brutal against K.C. of late, going 0-6 SU and ATS in its last six vs Alex Smith and company. 

    The Chiefs enter the contest as the only unbeaten team in the AFC West, which is not much of a surprise if you’ve seen them play so far. Kansas City has always had a stout defense but it’s the offense that’s taking them to new heights, as the quarterback-running back-wide receiver combo of Alex Smith, star rookie Kareem Hunt and Tyreek Hill has been putting on a show. 

    Kansas City has been fantastic when it comes to winning straight up at home, but it’s been a different story at the betting window. In the Chiefs’ last 14 home tilts, they’re 12-2 SU but just 6-8 ATS.
