Week 5 Monday Night Football Odds

The Atlanta Falcons are just 1-3 both SU and ATS so far this season, but they're big betting favorites at the sportsbooks for Monday Night Football as they take on the New York Jets at the Georgia Dome.

Jets at Atlanta - Georgia Dome, 8:30pm ET

The Falcons' lone win so far this season came back in Week 2 at home against the St. Louis Rams, while they've been tagged with losses by each of the New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins, and New England Patriots.

And that defeat against the Patriots came at home last week in a 30-23 game as a 2.5-point favorite on the NFL odds. Matt Ryan went 34 of 54 for 421 yards passing for the Falcons in that loss, with two touchdown passes and one interception. Tony Gonzalez had 12 catches for 149 yards and two scores in the contest.

The Jets are 2-2 SU but 3-1 ATS through their first four games of the season, and they're coming off a 38-13 loss on the road as a 3.5-point underdog against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4.

Jets QB Geno Smith completed 23 of his 34 pass attempts for 289 yards through the air in that loss to the Titans, with one touchdown throw and two interceptions. Jeff Cumberland had the TD catch for New York in that game, with Nick Folk booting a pair of field goals in the losing cause.

The Falcons and the Jets haven't met since December 2009, when Atlanta won 10-7 as a 5-point road underdog in an UNDER result on the NFL betting lines at the sportsbooks. For Monday night the Falcons are 10-point favorites at Bovada, with the OVER/UNDER listed at 43.5.
