Wild Card Betting: Lines and Injuries

The NFL's regular season has finally come to a close as we move into NFL playoffs betting this week.

Four interesting Wild Card matchups leave bettors with plenty to consider this weekend.

Bettors clearly believe the fairytale is over for Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos as 60.8% of OddsShark bettors are going with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road as a 9-point favorite at Bovada. [ See the latest Wild Card props listings as well ]

The week’s biggest injury news came in this game as Pittsburgh’s leading rusher Rashard Mendenhall is out for the playoffs with a torn ACL, but that hasn’t slowed down betting on the Steelers. Denver is 0-3 SU and ATS in its last three games.

Pittsburgh isn’t the biggest favorite of the week, however; that's the New Orleans Saints. New Orleans is an 11-point favorite at home at 5Dimes over the Detroit Lions. Not only are the Saints arguably the hottest team in football with eight straight wins both SU and ATS to end the season, but they are also 8-0 SU and ATS at home this season, making them a tough team to pick against in New Orleans.

The New York Giants took care of business in their showdown against Dallas on Sunday night to earn the NFC East division title and this playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons. New York is a 3-point favorite at home at Bovada. The total has gone UNDER in eight of Atlanta’s last 12 games and in four of New York’s last five games at home; the total in this week’s game is currently at 47 at Bovada.

The Cincinnati Bengals failed to win last Sunday against Baltimore, but with the New York Jets, Denver Broncos, and Oakland Raiders also losing they still managed to make it into the playoffs. Houston’s T.J. Yates left last Sunday’s game against Tennessee  with a shoulder injury, but he is expected to play in this week’s game. Houston is a 3-point favorite at home at TopBet.
