Patriot lovers have won their past seven Week 1 bets on their favorite, but not by wagering on the point spread.

New England is 7-0 in the past seven seasons, but on OVER bets. They visit Tennessee in Week 1 as the biggest 'lock' of the week, if you consider a 7-0 trend a lock.

Jacksonville has been the safest Week 1 bet in the past dozen years as the Jags are 11-2 ATS. But they visit Minnesota, which is on an 8-2 ATS tear over the past decade of season openers.

Who is the worst Week 1 bet? Surprise, surprise, it's the dreadful Cleveland Browns (1-11-1 ATS in their 13-year history) and St. Louis Rams (1-10-1 ATS in past 12 years). And surprise, surprise, both are big underdogs this (the Browns +9 at home to the Eagles and the Rams +9 at Detroit).
