Coyotes in Tough Against Streaking Penguins

After a busy weekend in the NHL, we have just two games on the Monday schedule and only one of them is worth watching. Hint, it’s not this one. The Penguins have absolutely dominated the Coyotes in Pittsburgh and with Sidney Crosby and the rest of the Pens on a five-game winning streak, there likely won’t be any massive upset happening tonight.

SHARK BITES
  • The total has gone UNDER in 6 of the Coyotes' last 7 games against the Penguins.
  • The Coyotes are 1-4 in their last 5 games on the road against the Penguins.
  • The total has gone OVER in the Penguins' last 10 games.

The Penguins are starting to put it all together and it looks like their star-studded lineup is finally kicking it into high gear. During Pittsburgh’s five-game streak, Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel have combined for 26 points and their captain has been basically unstoppable.

The ’Yotes, on the other hand, are coming off their first win in seven games and have won consecutive games just twice this season. Although having Mike Smith back in net is a major boost, he can’t do it all himself. The No. 1 tendy has faced 33 or more shots in seven of his last eight starts and he’s stopped 40 or more pucks four times in that span.

Smith, assuming he gets the nod tonight, will be facing the top producing team of five-on-five shots, so he’ll have to be on his toes. If the Pens don’t win this by at least two or three, I’ll be extremely surprised.
