March 12th NHL Picks

Taking the above trends alongside some more in-depth handicapping, here is a pick I'm focused on for tonight's NHL games:

Seattle's Shane Wright OVER 0.5 Points (+105 at Sportsbook)

Wright is playing the best hockey of his career. The Seattle top pick has 38 points in 62 games this year. Most of that has come after a slow first month, though, with 36 points in his last 44. Wright's strong play has earned him a move up in the lineup lately, with over 15 minutes a night in four of his last six games.

Tonight, Wright faces a Habs team that's allowed 1.25 goals to opposing centers. Montreal has let up just nine goals in their last four games, but that's mostly been against weak offenses like Buffalo, Calgary, and Vancouver. In two career games against MTL, Wright has one goal and four shots.

Vancouver's Filip Hronek U0.5 Points (-160 at Sportsbook)

With Quinn Hughes out, Hronek has struggled. The Vancouver D-Man has points in just three of his last nine games overall. He's also pointless in his last six road games.

Tonight, Hronek faces a Flames team that hasn't let up more than three goals in their last six games, averaging just 2.3 against per game in that stretch. They're also particularly great at shutting down defense, allowing the sixth-fewest goals to the position this year.
