March 4th NHL Picks

Taking the above trends alongside some more in-depth handicapping, here are two picks I'm focused on for tonight's NHL games:

Edmonton's Evan Bouchard OVER 2.5 shots (-132 at Sportsbook)

Evan Bouchard is putting pucks on net right now. In his last ten games the Oilers' D-man is averaging 3.9 shots per game and has gone OVER 2.5 SOG in seven of 10. He's also gone OVER 2.5 SOG in five-straight games against bottom-10 defensive teams.

Tonight, Bouchard has a great opportunity to pepper the net against a brutal Anaheim defense. The Ducks allow the second-most shots against per game overall (32.05) and the second-most to opposing defenders, too (18.51).

Calgary's Blake Coleman UNDER 0.5 points (-156 at Sportsbook)

Blake Coleman is on quiet the cold streak. In his last 10 games he has zero goals, zero assists, and is -6. He also has just 19 shots in that stretch, well below his 2.35 per game average on the year.

Tonight, he faces a Flyers team that's been pretty good defensively lately. Philly has let up just 2.5 goals per game in the last four. They've also allowed the eighth-fewest shots and goals to the RW position this year, their best defense against any position. Coleman is in for another tough day.
