Bolts, Leafs on NHL Odds

The favored -115 Maple Leafs' three-game home winning streak will be in jeopardy on Tuesday when they host an underdog Tampa Bay team hungry to snap a two-game slide.

Tampa Bay shut out Toronto 4-0 in their only clash this season, and as -105 underdogs at Sportsbook.ag the Lightning are a good upset bet possibility in this one.

Steven Stamkos is scoreless in two games, but against his hometown Maple Leafs he has tallied 13 points in nine career games – including a pair in the earlier meeting.

Toronto is third-worst in the league in goals scored, and has been shut out twice in the previous four games. Totals bettors might lean toward the UNDER  because of the Maple Leafs' scoring woes – and could be convinced knowing that 15 Toronto games have paid out to UNDER bettors this season.

Detroit seeks revenge against San Jose when they face off in their first meeting since the Wings were eliminated by the Sharks in five games in last year's playoffs.

The Sharks are -115 favorites at HP Pavilion, where they are 7-3-2 so far but out of a playoff position at this juncture of the year. Detroit, meanwhile, is atop the Western Conference standings – and is a good underdog wager at -105 over at Sportsbook.ag.

These teams have tons of firepower to unleash and four of their past five games have sent OVER bettors to the payout window.

Atlanta has won five straight and netminder Ondrej Pavelec is third-best in goals-against average and save percentage. The Thrashers could make for a good wager at +115 against the -135 high-scoring favorite Colorado Avalanche.

Both are among the highest-scoring teams in the league, and with a total set at 5.5 OVER bettors could be tempted in this contest.

League-leading Washington takes its sub-par road record into St. Louis on Wednesday, where the Blues are a spectacular 8-1-1.

The Capitals could be a small favorite against the Blues, and this could be a good upset wager on the home team. Oddsmakers usually set the total high in Washington games, and they have not seen many games appeal to OVER bettors despite their scoring threats.

Boston and Philadelphia will renew hostilities when they butt heads for the first time since the Flyers came back from three games down to upset the Bruins in the Eastern Conference playoffs last season.

The Bruins' goaltending has been superb and boasts the second-best GAA in the league. Totals bettors should note their games have paid out heavily to UNDER bettors during the year.

Philly is second-best in goals scored, and will need to solve Boston’s strong goaltending to snap a two-game slide and hand Boston a third straight defeat.
