Canada US 4 Nations Props

Canada vs USA 4 Nations Props: It's McDavid Time

The 4 Nations final is set, with a thrilling Canada vs USA battle on the cards.

This matchup will feature some of the best players in the world — Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews, and Chris Kreider (maybe not that last one). So, it's a great opportunity to lock in some 4 Nations player props for USA vs Canada. Here are my three best bets:

4 Nations Final Preview: USA vs Canada

If you're locking in a first-goal bet for Canada vs USA (I'm riding with McDavid, below), take advantage of Sportsbook's promotion for this contest. The book is offerinng up a 'second chance' on all first-goal wagers, giving users their cash back if a first goalscorer pots the second tuck, instead of the first.

Matthew Tkachuk OVER 2.5 Shots (-104 at Sportsbook)

The oddsmakers are lost on this one. I don’t know why they keep giving us even money on Tkachuk shot OVERs.

Entering the 4 Nations, Tkachuk had OVER 4.5 shots (not just 2.5) in four of his final five games. In the first two games of his 4 Nations tournament, he had 11 total shots. He even managed to go O2.5 despite playing just 11:10 against Canada due to injury and a five-minute penalty for fighting.

Tkachuk is clearly banged up, but he practiced ahead of Thursday’s final and will continue to put pucks on net always.

Connor McDavid First Goal (+1600 at Sportsbook)

Sidney Crosby is the captain, but Connor McDavid is Canada’s tone setter. He has come out absolutely flying in this 4 Nations tournament, scoring the opening goal in Canada’s last two games.

McDavid loves to open the scoring, tallying the first goal six times with the Oilers this year (tied for fifth-most in the NHL). I expect him to take control of this game early for Canada and is great value for another opening tuck.

If you're gonna lock this first-goal prop, or any one frankly, be sure to do so over at Sportsbook. They're running a promotion for this 4 Nations final, where if your first goal scorer bet ends up scoring second (instead of first) you get your money back.

Cale Makar OVER 2.5 Shots (+122 at Sportsbook)

Cale Makar is probably the biggest wildcard in this 4 Nations final. He didn’t play in the USA vs Canada round robin game due to illness, but he’s going to be Canada’s top defenseman on Thursday night.

He looked all the way back against Finland in a must-win on Monday, tallying four shorts in 23:57. I expect he’ll log even more minutes against USA.

Makar is also an underrated shot machine. He’s averaging 3.07 shots per game on the season and had OVER 2.5 in each of his final three NHL games prior to the 4 Nations. So, getting O2.5 for this game at plus money is a steal.
