The Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars have been battling it out for Central Division bragging rights most of the season. The St. Louis Blues, however, have been making a late-season push for the division crown and enter Tuesday’s game versus the Colorado Avalanche tied with the Stars with 99 points atop the Central Division and Western Conference.
The Central has clearly established itself as the best division in the NHL with six teams worthy of making the playoffs. The Blues are looking like the best of the bunch of late as they have won four-straight games while allowing a grand total of zero goals.
Most recently, the Blues blanked the NHL’s best team, the Washington Capitals, 4-0. Jake Allen stopped all 32 shots for his sixth shutout of the season, tying him with Ben Bishop for second in the NHL in that category.
The Avs have a flicker of hope for the postseason but sit three points back of the Minnesota Wild for the eighth and final playoff spot. They have six games remaining and four of those come versus teams from within the Central. They have not played well versus their division, however, as they have lost seven of their last eight against the Central.
A 4.4-1.2 result in favor of the Blues is the prediction by the Odds Shark handicapping pick engine. View the computer score prediction and who will win the pick on the moneyline for all upcoming NHL matchups here.
