Flyers, Canucks in NHL betting

Philadelphia has not lost in 14 trips to Vancouver, yet sportsbooks still have the Canucks as favorites when they host the underdog Flyers on Tuesday night in NHL betting action.

Vancouver (-145 at Sportsbook.ag) is the hottest team over the past 10 games, posting a 7-1-2 record, and it might be where the smart money goes - despite the Flyers' domination. Roberto Luongo also shut out Philly 3-0 in their only meeting last season in the City of Brotherly Love.

Consideration must be given to the Flyers (+125), who own a league-best 10-2-3 road record. Sergei Bobrovsky is 7-1-1 in net for the Flyers, who are just 2-2-3 against Western Conference teams, while Vancouver is 4-0-1 at home against the Eastern Conference.

It’s been a longer break for the Flyers and, coupled with a 5-0 loss in their last game, that will most likely make the Canucks popular in the NHL betting lines.

Luongo and Bobrovsky provide their respective clubs with solid goaltending – and totals bettors could be lining up to take the UNDER with an opening total set for 5.5 at Bovada.

Another interesting NHL betting line has the defending-champion Blackhawks as road underdogs against the St. Louis Blues (-120), who have been excellent at home with a 12-4-2 record.

Chicago has won four straight, and have scored 15 goals while allowing just five in dominating three of those games. As +100 road underdogs the Blackhawks could be the best upset bet of the night with their recent winning streak.

The Blackhawks lit the lamp plenty of times in a 7-5 victory over St. Louis earlier this season, and the teams have made winners of OVER bettors in four of their previous five encounters.

Dallas will try to make it three straight wins this season against Detroit when the Stars welcome the Red Wings to the Lone Star State on Wednesday night in a marquee NHL betting contest.

The Stars have fallen of late - losing to Phoenix and Calgary at home - but they are 12-4-3 overall at American Airlines Center. Dallas enters this game with a 4-1 advantage in the last five games head-to-head and will be favorites for this matchup.
