Vegas Looks to End Three-Game Slide vs Nashville

The Vegas Golden Knights conclude their four-game homestand by welcoming the Nashville Predators to the T-Mobile Arena. Vegas has been in a tailspin recently, dropping seven of its last nine games, including last three in a row, while Nashville has also dropped three of its last four. The Predators have won the first two meetings with the Knights this year but are a +105 underdog in tonight’s game with Vegas coming back at -125 and the total Sportsbook at 5.5 goals.

Golden Knights have been Surrendering a lot of goals recently

Vegas has been floundering recently, looking for any type of success after dropping seven of its last nine, including an ongoing three-game slide. However, all is not lost, as the Golden Knights still remain in the third spot in the Pacific Division with a seven-point edge on Vancouver.

Keeping pucks out of the net has been an issue recently for the Knights as they are surrendering 3.78 goals against over their last nine games, including allowing 4.2 goals against in their six home games. This is not the norm, though, as they have done a good job limiting goals at T-Mobile Arena this year, averaging just 2.46 goals against which are the fifth-fewest in the league.

Additionally, the scoring has gone stale as well, averaging 2.33 goals for over this nine-game slump, topping four goals just once over that span. Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to be between the pipes and he has struggled since the All-Star break, going 2-4-0 with a 3.49 goals against average and a .889 save percentage.

Preds eye season sweep over Knights

Nashville is looking to string together consecutive wins for the first time in over a week, having dropped three of its last four, but claimed a 3-1 home triumph over Montreal on Thursday. The Predators had done well coming out of the All-Star break winning 3-of-4 but then went on a three-game slide and is now looking for a three-game season-series sweep over Nashville.

Scoring hasn’t been much of an issue for Nashville this year on the road as it is scoring 3.14 goals per game which is the ninth-most in the league. Additionally, it has received the 10th-most Sportsbook opportunities away from home but only click at 12.8 percent which is dead last in the NHL.

Since the All-Star break, the Preds are averaging three goals per game, which is slightly down from their season average of 3.07, but they are allowing 2.86 goals against which is quite higher than its season average of 2.57. Pekka Rinne is expected to be the netminder tonight and he has remained consistent post-All-Star, sporting a 2-3-0 record with a 2.47 goals against average and a .918 save percentage. The GAA is the same as before the break, while the save percentage is .003 better.

Which side of the Total should you be on?

We have two teams trending in opposite directions of the total recently and Sportsbook has this total Sportsbook at 5.5 goals. Nashville has gone UNDER in eight of its last 10 games with only two games going OVER 5.5 goals and an average combined score of 5.2.

Meanwhile, Vegas has gone OVER in four straight games with an average combined score of 7.5. When Rinne has been in net, goals have been hard to come by, while Fleury appears to be in a bit of a funk and I think an OVER is in store for tonight’s game.

My take on Nashville vs Vegas

I like the OVER 5.5 goals in tonight’s game. I think that Vegas is just having a real hard stop stopping goals recently as Fleury’s numbers are way off since the All-Star break and Nashville has the ninth-best goals per game on the road. I think the Predators are going to be able to run up the score with four or more goals and I think will carry the OVER.
