The Flyers opened as -130 favorites at home and have been bet down slightly to Philadelphia -120. New York has won two straight games and is going off at +100 to pick up a third straight win. The total is set at 5.5 goals as the UNDER is 5-0 in New York’s last five road games.

New York News & Notes

New York earned a convincing 4-1 win over the Washington Capitals on Saturday night as Igor Shesterkin turned aside 26 of 27 shots he faced and Artemi Panarin, Ryan Strome and Pavel Buchnevich each recorded two points.

Shesterkin has been solid for the Rangers all season with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage, but he is only 4-5-1 as the goal support generally hasn’t been there like it was on Saturday. The Rangers rank 27th in the league in goals scored at 2.44 per game.

And now New York will be without its leading scorer as Panarin is taking a leave of absence from the team. Panarin, who has five goals and 13 assists, is at the center of domestic abuse allegations that stem back to 2011. The 29-year-old denies any wrongdoing but has decided to take time away from the team as he deals with the backlash of this situation.

Philadelphia News & Notes

The Flyers had a rough time on the outdoor ice in Lake Tahoe on Sunday as they got crushed 7-3 by the Boston Bruins. James van Riemsdyk had a hand in all three goals with a goal and two assists, but Philadelphia couldn’t overcome a disastrous second period in which it was outscored 4-0. Since Sportsbook the season with a 7-2-1 record, the Flyers are just 1-2-2 in the month of February.

The team had four games this month postponed due to COVID-19 protocols and is still expected to be severely short-handed due to quarantines on Tuesday night. Philadelphia is expected to get Claude Giroux back on Tuesday but will still be without Jakub Voracek, Scott Laughton, Travis Konecny and Oskar Lindblom. The Flyers can’t afford to be missing so much offensive talent when they rank 26th in goals against, allowing 3.27 goals per game.

Betting Pick: UNDER 5.5 goals

With Panarin out for the Rangers and the Flyers missing so many key players, this looks on paper to have the makings of a low-scoring affair.
