Rangers Have Been a Good Bet Off a Loss

The New York Rangers will look to rebound from a tough loss to the Chicago Blackhawks when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs - the NHL’s worst team - at the Air Canada Centre Thursday night.

Shark Bites
  • The Maple Leafs are 3-9 SU in their last 12 games after a loss.
  • The total has gone OVER in the Maple Leafs' last five games.
  • The Rangers are 5-13 SU in their last 18 games on the road.

Henrik Lundqvist allowed four goals on 19 shots as the Blueshirts fell 5-3 to the Hawks at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night. It was just their second loss in seven games and the first time they failed to collect a point in as many contests. On the bright side, the Rangers have had a penchant for following up a loss with a win as they’ve won the last nine times they’ve been in that spot.

The Leafs are now at the bottom of the NHL with 49 points and are just 3-6-1 in their last 10 games heading into Thursday evening. The Buds were hammered by the Blackhawks by a score of 7-2 their last time, but have had a couple of days off in between.

The Rangers have had the better of the Leafs (as have the rest of the league) this season, winning both meetings thus far. Early reports indicate that Antti Raanta will get the start for the Rangers with Thursday's game being the second of a back-to-back spot. Raanta will be hungry for a good performance, however, as he has not posted a win since November 15.
