NFL Week 8 Prop Bets: Does Gostkowski Have the Yips?

We have just about reached the halfway point of this NFL season so there’s still lots of time left to pad your online betting bankroll. Sportsbooks around the internet have been very generous this year to provide us bettors plenty of prop bets to fill up our treat bags. Take a look at some the best ones I found heading into the Halloween weekend action.

Zeke-a Has Gone Viral

The Dallas Cowboys were heavily scrutinized for their 2016 first round draft pick of Ezekiel Elliott but he and the Cowboys’ offensive line have so far proved critics wrong. Zeke has rushed for 703 yards in just six games in his rookie year and has averaged 5.1 yards per attempt.

Bovada has a line up for the first-year tailback’s total rushing yards this week as America’s Team goes up against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. The total is set at 99.5 and Elliott has rushed for at least 134 yards in his last four games. Philly’s run defense has been leaky and the Cowboys run the ball like it’s going out of style. I’m surprised this total isn’t much higher and the OVER feels like easy money.

Ezekiel Elliot Total Rushing yards O/U 99.5, Will Zeke rush for 130 or more yards in week 8

Odds as of October 27 at Bovada

  • Over 99.5 -130
  • Under 99.5 -110

Attack of the Tom

Tom Brady’s revenge on the league continues as No. 12 has been nearly perfect through his first three games coming off his suspension. He has thrown for 1004 yards, eight touchdowns, owns a Quarterback rating of 132.6 and is the favorite to win MVP at any credible sportsbook.

Coming into the Patriots' Week 8 matchup with the Bills, Brady is yet to throw a pick and Bovada is offering a plus-money line for him to do so against Rex Ryan’s defense. Brady’s last game against the Bills was actually one of his worst of 2015 as he went just 20-39 with a QBR of 46.4 – and most importantly, had an interception.

Will Tom Brady throw an interception in Week 8?

Odds as of October 27 at Bovada

  • Yes +110
  • No -150

Kicking and Screaming

Steven Hauschka and Stephen Gostkowski have built up reputations as two of the best and most accurate kickers in the NFL. They have, however, both been struggling to make easy kicks this year and have each failed to convert two extra points so far. Gostkowski has missed XPs in two-straight weeks now and Hauschka – who of course didn’t get an attempt at an XP last week – has missed 20-yard field goals in two-straight weeks and put the potential game-winning kick wide against the Cardinals last Sunday night.

If you think these guys have a case of the yips and that their struggles continue into Week 8 Bovada is offering a tasty +1000 line for both Hauschka and Gostkowski, who are normally clinicians, to miss an extra point this week.

Will Steven Hauschka and Stephen Gostowski miss an extra point in Week 8

Odds as of October 27 at Bovada

  • Yes +1000
  • No -5000
