NHL Odds: Flyers, Bolts

NHL betting action resumes with 26 teams playing on Tuesday night. Most of the betting will be on the top two Eastern teams as the Philadelphia Flyers and the Tampa Bay Lightning hook up in the Sunshine State.

Tampa Bay (-125 at Sportsbook.ag) is riding a five-game win streak, and sits four points ahead of Washington in leading the Southeast Division. With a pair of road wins against the Flyers and a 16-4-2 record at home, the Lightning could be poised for a sixth straight victory.

The Flyers (+105) won five consecutive against Tampa Bay until two one-goal losses earlier this season, but they are 17-5-3 on the road and enacted some revenge against the Blackhawks heading into the All-Star Break. The Flyers could be the best road underdog bet on a busy NHL betting schedule.

Philadelphia scores more and allows less goals then their conference rival Tampa Bay, but the Flyers must stay out of the box against the highly-potent power play led by leading scorer Steven Stamkos.

Sportsbook.ag has the OVER/UNDER total set at 5.5 for this game, but these teams are notorious for sending OVER bettors to the payout window and combined for a whopping 15 goals in their last encounter.

Western-leading Vancouver travels to Phoenix on Wednesday as likely road favorites after playing in Dallas on Tuesday night.

The Canucks had seven of their 10 losses on the road heading into their matchup with the Stars on Tuesday, and that usually means a bit of relief for the home team. But the Coyotes play in front of small crowds and own a meagre 10-9-5 record at home this season.

The Canucks haven’t dominated the Coyotes in the past but they are a solid wager when favorites, posting a 26-14 record with that label.

Vancouver is better in every offensive and defensive category than their opponents, and should be a fairly reliable wager on the NHL betting lines.

The Canucks have lost four of six against the Coyotes, however, and were beaten 3-2 in their only meeting this season. While Vancouver will get the majority of attention on the NHL betting lines in this game, Phoenix could provide excellent value for underdog seekers. They are 14-13 when heading into games as a betting underdog.

Both teams possess solid goaltending, and that is good news for totals bettors. The Canucks and Coyotes have made winners of UNDER bettors in four of their previous five head-to-head.
