Betting the NHL's individual awards always contains a who's who of the upper echelon of talent in the league, and the 2015/16 campaign is no different.
Online sportsbook Sportsbook is offering odds on who will capture the Art Ross Trophy (total points leader) and Hart Memorial Trophy (most valuable player) with the usual suspects topping the list.
Crosby the Art Ross favorite
Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby has been tabbed as the favorite to lead the league in scoring at +150 odds while Alexander Ovechkin and John Tavares have the second best chances at the shop (+500).
Fresh off an 87 point season, last year's Art Ross Trophy Sportsbook Jamie Benn is priced at +1500 to do it again for the Dallas Stars. Interestingly enough, Edmonton Oilers rookie phenom Connor McDavid has better odds (+2000) to win the award than seasoned vets Ryan Getzlaf (+2500), Claude Giroux (+3000) and Jonathan Toews (+3000).
Double the hardware for Crosby?
The Hart Trophy, which is voted on by members of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association, is awarded to "the player judged most valuable to his team." Once again, "Sid the Kid" is the undisputed fave to capture the award.
Last season Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price became the first netminder to win the trophy since Dominik Hasek did so in 1997/98 and is tied with Benn and Tampa Bay sniper Steven Stamkos as the fourth likeliest candidates at +1000.
