Stanley Cup Final Series Props

St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington (50) blocks an overtime shootout shot by Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (37) during a NHL game between the Boston Bruins and the St. Louis Blues on February 23, 2019, at Enterprise Center, St. Louis, MO.

When it comes to the Stanley Cup Final, there’s no shortage of betting opportunities available. For the 2019 edition of the battle for Lord Stanley’s holy grail, the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues are set for what’s shaping up to be yet another exciting championship.

Bovada has released a litany of wagering opportunities for the Cup Final, with odds on correct score, total games played in the series and where the series will end, along with 15 player prop specials.

Here are a few of my favorite props:

OVER 5.5 Points for Ryan O’Reilly (-115)

Despite sitting second in team scoring behind Jaden Schwartz, Blues center Ryan O’Reilly is being undervalued in this series in my opinion. O’Reilly, who has three goals and 11 assists in the 2019 playoffs, has been the steadiest offensive contributor for St. Louis all year long.

Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask has been excellent in the postseason but I think O’Reilly can easily go OVER his 5.5-point projection. If you’re interested, he’s +4000 to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as NHL playoffs MVP.

Series to Go Six Games (+190)

Since 2010, six of the nine Stanley Cup Finals have gone to six games. While I realize past stats and trends can be irrelevant, the Blues and Bruins are incredibly evenly matched and I can see this one going to six games.

St. Louis has already played plenty of games in the postseason, as the Blues-Winnipeg Jets first-round series went to six games. The Blues went the distance in a Game 7 showdown with the Dallas Stars in the second round before dispatching the San Jose Sharks in six in the Western Conference final.

The Bruins are coming off a sweep of the Carolina Hurricanes, yet they went the distance vs the Toronto Maple Leafs in the opening round and needed six games to send the Columbus Blue Jackets packing in the Eastern Conference semifinal.

I think another long series is in store, so the +190 juice looks appealing at a champion being crowned in Game 6.
