Game 6: oilers vs canucks preview & pick
The Game: Edmonton oilers vs vancouver Canucks, 8 PM ET
Team | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Edmonton Oilers | +1.5 (-155) | O6 (-122) | +160 |
Vancouver Canucks | -1.5 (+130) | U6 (+102) | -192 |
Josie's Take: Everything is falling into place for the Canucks, who have fought through adversity all playoffs as they look to clinch their first conference final in nearly 15 years (Go Canada!).
The game-winning goal in the last meeting, that was sniped with 33 seconds left in the third, was a dagger to the Oilers' heart and any momentum they had building. The Canucks head back to Rogers Place but being 4-1 on the road this postseason, I doubt they're stressing about it.
I talk about it constantly, but Silovs (2.62GAA, .907SV%) continues to write his rookie-perfect story. Knocking off McDavid and the Oilers in Edmonton will jump to the top of his resume. I'm on board with the Canucks to close the series tonight.
Pick: Canucks ML (-192)
Michel's Take: I'm not sure what team wins or has an edge so I'm staying away from any SU bets. The total has zagged whenever I have zigged. So I've got no confidence there either. But where I do have confidence is in the first period total.
It's not displayed in our table, but I'm SMASHING the first period UNDER in this game at -135.
In nine matchups this seasno the first period total has gone OVER 1.5 goals seven times (78%). Just in this five-game series alone, the OVER has hit four times (80%).
On the season, Vancouver has seen the first-period total hit 61% while for Edmonton it's 58%. That's the third and ninth-highest rate in the NHL this year.
Pick: OVER 1.5 Goals in P1 (-135)
