Stanley Cup Finals Game 6: Florida Panthers vs edmonton oilers
The Game: Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers, Friday, June 21, 2024
Teams | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Florida Panthers | +1.5 (-265) | O5.5 (-112) | +100 |
Edmonton Oilers | -1.5 (+215) | U5.5 (-108) | -120 |
Josie's Take: The Oilers could become the second team in NHL history to come back from a 3-0 deficit and force a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Returning to the atmosphere of Rogers Place for Game 6 was not on the Panther’s bingo card and they could be in trouble.
McDavid is setting records, recording eight points across two straight games, playing on a video game setting. A no-brainer why he's jumped as a heavy Conn Smythe favorite. But, as with all championship teams, it’s not just the superstar performing. With Evan Bouchard’s three points last game and even a Corey Perry goal, the whole bench is pitching in.
CONNOR MCDAVID IS POETRY IN MOTION 😮💨

After an inconsistent postseason by Skinner and shaky start to the season, we’ve seen the 25-year-old build some confidence with 61 saves in his last two starts. However, with 47 blocked shots in the last two meetings, Edmonton’s defense is helping guard the net. When facing elimination, Skinner is a promising 4-0 SU.
Florida looks to be cracking under the pressure in moments, giving Edmonton 11 power play chances in the last two games, in which the Oilers capitalized on three of them.
With home ice advantage and an overflowing bucket of momentum, I’m going with the Oilers. See you for Game 7!
Pick: Oilers ML (-120)
Michel's Take: Goals have been raining down in this series. In the last three games, we've seen an average of eight (!!) goals. Well above the line of 5.5 set by the books tonight. Sure we've seen the total go below the sportsbook's line in the first two games, but we had five goals in Game 2 (almost hit the OVER) and 5.6 xG in Game 1 (the OVER should have hit).
Now don't forget that the OVER is 8-2 when Edmonton plays on home ice in these playoffs. The Oilers high-flying offensive stars come out to play for the home crowd.
Connor McDavid (who should win the Conn Smythe no matter who gets the Cup) has four points in each of his last two games. And this rate he might be able to hit the OVER all on his own!
At -112 the price is right to take the OVER tonight for Game 6.
Pick: OVER 5.5 (-112)
