Stanley Cup Finals Game 4: Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers
The Game: Florida Panthers vs Edmonton Oilers, Saturday, June 15, 2024
Teams | Puckline | Total | Moneyline |
---|---|---|---|
Florida Panthers | +1.5 (-265) | O5.5 (+100) | -102 |
Edmonton Oilers | -1.5 (+215) | U5.5 (-120) | -118 |
Michel's Take: This series is over. And while I'm sure the Florida Panthers want to win their franchise's first Stanley Cup on home ice, getting the first Stanley Cup Finals sweep in since the '98 Red Wings would be pretty sweet.
And look, the Panthers have had Edmonton's number all year long. They're 5-0SU against them on the season. They've also completely nullified the Oilers' main weapon; the power play. On the man advantage in the playoffs, Edmonton was scoring on nearly 40% of their opportunities. They've yet to capitalize once on the man advantage against Florida in this series (and in their two regular season games).
Through the series, Florida is winning the xG battle at 51% in all situations and the battle between the pipes with Bobrovsky holding a stupidly good 0.954SV%.
Pick: Florida ML (-102)
Josie's Take: Odds seem cautious admit it, tagging Florida as +115 underdogs last game and now -102 tonight, but the Cats are and have been the far better team.
Edmonton is 0-10 on the powerplay this series, unable to generate anything offensively. Then, the Oilers d-men are looking lost on the ice with guys like Darnell Nurse making costly mistakes in Game 3.
Lowest +/- in a postseason in NHL history:

-16 — Darnell Nurse (2024)
-16 — Paul Reinhart (1983)
Darnell's taking the record for himself, right? pic.twitter.com/BlyXSow2Vm
Funnily enough, Florida is just 3-7 SU when road underdogs this year (regular season and playoffs). However, two of this wins came against the Oilers in December and most recently, Game 3.
Get ready to witness Florida win its first Cup in franchise history... on Canadian soil -- ouch.
Pick: Panthers ML (-102)
