NHL Playoffs Player Props Today: Oilers vs Panthers Game 5

We've got three NHL playoff player props for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers. Will the Panthers close this out at home and win their first title?

Make sure to see our matchup page to get all the betting insights and trends for tonight's Game 5 in Sunrise, Florida.

NHL Playoffs Players Props Today: Oilers vs Panthers Game 5

Vladimir Tarasenko Player Prop Today: O1.5 SOG (-166)

If Florida is to win in Game 5, getting a bunch of shots on Stuart Skinner will be key. With that in mind, how is Tarasenko's line still 1.5 shots?

We hit on this bet in Game 4 so I'm going back to the well here. Tarasenko has seen this line hit in eight straight games now. He's also averaged 2.9 shot attempts per game through these playoffs. This is an easy W.

Mathew Tkachuk Player Prop Today: O0.5 Points (-154)

This game screams Mathew Tkachuk performance.

We've already seen him score 44 points in 41 playoff games over the last two seasons, including six game-winning goals. Against the Oilers, he's scored 26 points in 32 career games.

Before facing said Oilers, Tkachuk hit this line 11 times in 17 playoff games (65%) this year. I get that he's only scored one point against Edmonton in this series, so the trend says he won't tonight, but some trends are meant to be broken.

Connor McDavid Player Prop Today: U3.5 SOG (-120)

McDavid is exactly 50% on this prop in the playoffs with 11 over and 11 under. That trend holds when you isolate for just this series (2-2).

Florida allows a measly 24.3 shots against at home in these playoffs. And knowing that a win will secure them the Cup they'll do their best to hold onto possession. Which means less of the puck on McDavid's stick.

For Edmonton, they know they don't need their captain to toss pucks from anywhere to win. McDavid had a masterful four points in Game 4 with only two shots on net.
