Sabres, Flyers in NHL playoff betting

Philadelphia tries to complete the comeback from a 3-2 series deficit and win Game 7 when they host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night in NHL betting action.

The Flyers are -160 home favorites at Bovada against the Sabres in what is turning out to be a feisty finish to their first-round Eastern Conference series.

Mike Richards' hard hit has likely sidelined the Sabres' Tim Connolly for the series finale. Buffalo has been pressed into bringing back Derek Roy, who led the team in scoring before being lost to injury early in the season.

Richards has yet to score in the series and needs to step up with star sniper Jeff Carter ailing. Chris Pronger played under five minutes in Game 6 of the Flyers' 5-4 OT victory in Buffalo last game, and their revolving goaltenders could make them vulnerable in this matchup.

Ryan Miller has two shutouts in the series for Buffalo and the road team has won four of the six games - meaning the Sabres (+140) could be a good bet as a road underdog in the City of Brotherly Love.

Four of the last five games have made winners of OVER bettors in totals betting.

There is little to choose between bitter rivals Montreal and Boston, where the Bruins hold a 3-2 advantage heading into Game 6 in their best-of-seven first-round Eastern Conference matchup on Tuesday.

Bovada sees the game as a hard choice, listing both teams at -110 on the NHL betting lines for this encounter. The road team has won four of the five games in the series.

The Canadiens hold an edge on the power play and need that to click if they want to push the Bruins to a deciding Game 7 in Boston. Three of five games have sent UNDER bettors to the payout window in totals betting.

Vancouver may be a -175 home favorite on the NHL betting lines for a deciding Game 7 on Tuesday night, but it’s the visiting Chicago Blackhawks (+155) who have all the momentum.

Chicago has come back from three games down to send their first-round Western Conference series to a deciding game against the regular season champion Canucks, who the Blackhawks also eliminated the past two postseasons.

The Blackhawks' offense has exploded in the past three games with two of those contests making winners of OVER bettors in totals betting.
