Kraken vs Golden Knights Sportsbook Odds

To nobody’s surprise, Vegas opened as the favorite for this contest. The Knights have the third-best points percentage in the NHL behind only Boston and New Jersey. The total opened at 3.5, which seems low, but it has since climbed all the way to 6.5 at most sportsbooks. The OVER is 4-1 in the five all-time meetings between these teams.

Seattle Surprising Many In Second Season

Don’t look now, but the Seattle Kraken appear to be a very good hockey team. They have points in nine of their last 10 games, including eight wins during that stretch. On Wednesday, the Kraken set a franchise record by scoring eight goals in an 8-5 victory over San Jose.

Andre Burakovsky led the way with three points and tops the team with 18 on the season. Matty Beniers also picked up three points vs the Sharks and has been extremely impressive so far in his rookie campaign. He leads all first-year players in points with 14 and is the co-favorite with Vegas goaltender Logan Thompson to win the Calder Trophy with odds of +400.

The Kraken have been strong on the road this season with a 5-1-1 record and currently sit second in the Pacific Division behind their opponents tonight.

The Stars Are Shining Brightly In Vegas

The Golden Knights are mostly healthy after an injury-ravaged 2021-22 and are off to a flying start to the season. They are 12-2-1 in their last 15 games and are in the top five in both goals scored and goals allowed per game.

Let’s start up front where they are being led by Jack Eichel and Mark Stone. Eichel, who has played in every Knights game this season, leads the team with 26 points and a +16 rating. As for Stone, he is heating up with goals in four straight games, including one in Wednesday’s 4-1 win over his former team, the Ottawa Senators.

The aforementioned Logan Thompson has been a bright spot in goal for Vegas. He is second in the league in wins with 11 and ranks fifth in both goals-against average (2.30) and save percentage (.925).

Kraken Player Prop: Matty Beniers First Goal Scorer (+2000)

With so much talk surrounding rookie Shane Wright entering the season, it’s Beniers who is turning heads in Seattle. He has five points in his last two games and is adapting quite well to life in the NHL. He collected an assist vs the Knights earlier this year, so why not get his first goal against Vegas tonight?

Golden Knights Player Prop: William Carrier Anytime Goal Scorer (+425)

Carrier is well on the way to smashing his career high in goals, with seven through the first 20 games of the season – his career best is eight. Bruce Cassidy has put the winger in more of a scoring role and Carrier has not let his coach or teammates down thus far.

Kraken: Keys to Victory

Goaltending. Philipp Grubauer is healthy again but hasn’t played in over a month. Martin Jones has been solid all season long but did give up five goals in his most recent start. If the Kraken are going to finally beat Vegas, they will need strong goaltending. If they get it, then gambling on the underdog when making your Kraken vs Golden Knights pick could pay off.

Golden Knights: Keys to Victory

Scoring from the back end. Alex Pietrangelo is averaging a point per game this season, while they also have the very gifted Shea Theodore on their blue line. This combination can give opponents fits and if either or both contribute offensively, Vegas will likely continue its dominance over the Kraken.
