Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Bruins are comfortable favorites for this one, marking the fourth time in five home games this season that Boston has been a -150 or better play at TD Garden. It's also just the second time in those five games that the total has sat below 6.

St. Louis Blues News & Notes

The Blues won three games at TD Garden last spring en route to the Stanley Cup, and that road prowess was a major reason for their stunning rally from dead last in the NHL standings in January to the top of the heap in June. St. Louis has been just as good on the road early in the 2019-20 campaign, having gone 2-1-1 SU while averaging 3.5 goals per game in that span.

And while the Blues showed some major cracks in defense and goaltending during their recent four-game losing streak (during which they surrendered 18 goals), they've cleaned things up of late, limiting Colorado and Los Angeles to a combined three goals in back-to-back victories. St. Louis outscored the Bruins 9-4 in its final three trips to Boston last season.

Boston News & Notes

The Bruins are ready for their rematch after getting dominated in their own arena in Game 7 of last year's final. The Bruins are an impressive 3-0-1 at home so far this season, averaging 3.5 goals per game at TD Garden while yielding just 1.8. They've also been great on special teams, having gone 7-for-15 on the power play at home while killing off 14 of 15 shorthanded situations.

But despite their hot start, the Bruins still have problems when it comes to scoring depth. David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand have combined for 15 of Boston's 26 goals this season – and the Blues were able to keep both players in check in last year's Stanley Cup finals, limiting Marchand to five points (two goals, three assists) and Pastrnak to four (two goals, two assists).

Betting Pick: UNDER 5.5

Both teams are getting top-notch goaltending at the moment, and with the Blues having shown the ability to negate the Bruins' top skill players last spring, this game could very well come down to which team can score three goals and hold on.
