Vladimir Tarasenko's Blues are underdogs in the Blues vs Jets odds

Blues vs Jets Betting Preview

Two teams looking to snap out of losing streaks clash Monday as the Winnipeg Jets (31-19-1) play host to the St. Louis Blues (23-24-3). The Jets are coming off a 4-0 loss to the visiting Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and have now dropped three straight and five of their past seven. The Blues close out a three-game road trip in Winnipeg in the throes of a four-game losing skid during which they’ve allowed 19 total goals, capped by Saturday’s 4-2 loss in Colorado.

Latest Betting Notes: Blues

Now mired in their third losing streak of four or more games this season, the Blues arrive in Winnipeg with plenty of work to do at both ends of the ice. In addition to surrendering four or more goals on six occasions over their past eight contests, the Blues have also struggled to score, scoring two or fewer goals six times over that stretch.

Monday night’s expected starting goaltender, Jordan Binnington, has emerged as a lightning rod for criticism while allowing 11 goals over just seven periods of action during a 0-3-0 run between the pipes and has compiled a dismal .878 save percentage so far this month.

The topic of recent trade speculation, Vladimir Tarasenko enters the week pointless in three outings since returning from a hand injury and has just one goal in his last nine games. Overall, the club has scored just one even-strength goal over the past two games and has also failed to tally a first-period goal in six games.

Latest Betting Notes: Jets

The Jets are also enduring plenty of offensive woes during their current slide. Winnipeg shooters have scored just three times during their current 0-3-0 run and have also struggled on home ice, potting just four total goals over their past three games.

The club deserved a better fate in Saturday’s 4-0 loss to Philadelphia while outshooting the Flyers by a 40-33 margin. However, it was a rough night for goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, who allowed all four goals on 30 shots before getting the hook in favor of backup David Rittich.

The Jets’ slide coincides with a dip in production from the team’s biggest stars. After picking up at least a point in all but one of 14 appearances following Christmas, Kyle Connor has been held off the scoresheet in three straight games. Rearguard Josh Morrissey has also cooled off, going pointless in four games, and has scored just once in 13 contests.

Blues Player Prop: Brayden Schenn OVER 0.5 Points

With the Blues ravaged by injuries that have sidelined Ryan O’Reilly, Pavel Buchnevich and possibly Robert Thomas, Brayden Schenn has stepped up. The veteran winger has picked up a point in four of five games and is a solid -121 bet to record at least one point on Monday.

Jets Player Prop: Pierre-Luc Dubois to Record 2 or More Points

Pierre-Luc Dubois saw an eight-game points streak on home ice snapped in Saturday’s loss. However, he has remained one of the few productive skaters during the Jets’ swoon, picking up a point in each of the team’s three previous outings. Dubois has turned in multi-point performances in two of three dates with the Blues, including a three-point night in last month’s 5-2 win in St. Louis, and offers value as a +185 bet to drive the Winnipeg attack on Monday night.
