Canada vs US 4 Nations

USA vs Canada 4 Nations Face-Off Odds & Picks: Can Canada Compete?

This is the game we've all been waiting for. The main event of the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off round robin will take place on Saturday, with USA vs Canada in Montreal.

Bookmakers have this one as a coin toss, with the Americans at -110 and the Canadians right there are -110, too. The total is a bit higher than usual, sitting at O/U 6.5 goals at Sportsbook:

I'm not sure how you can bet against the Americans here.

Team USA looked the part against Finland on Thursday, turning things on in the third period to dominate 6-1. Great goaltending, amazing forechecking, and plenty of goals — perfect hockey.

Team Canada, on the other hand, looked good — not great — against Sweden. Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon were amazing, but the goaltending issues we all thought could hold Canada back were still there. Jordan Binnington posted just a .885 save percentage in the OT win as Canada let things slip away in the third.

I just don't see how you can bet against the Americans in this game.

Also, this could be a history repeating situation. The last time Team Canada lost in a best-on-best tournament, it was against the Americans in the round robin of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. They did come back and win the Gold Medal game against USA, though.

USA vs Canada 4 Nations Face-Off Props

Matt Tkachuk OVER 2.5 Shots, +112 at Sportsbook

I cannot believe they're still giving us this Tkachuk shot prop at plus money. It's hilarious.

On the season, Tkachuk averages over three shots per game. In the last five contests before the 4 Nations break, he went OVER three shots four times (averaging 5.6 per contest). I took Tkachuk's shot OVER on Thursday against Finland, and he rewarded me with an absurd eight shots. And, somehow, oddsmakers decided to push Tkachuk's shot total value UP??? Thanks, I guess?

If you're, instead, looking for a goal-scorer bet for this game, I like Matthew's brother, Brady Tkachuk (+330 at Sportsbook).
