USA vs Finland 4 Nations Face-Off Odds & Picks: Expect American Domination

Finland and USA begin their 2025 4 Nations Face-Off tournaments tonight in Montreal. The powerhouse Americans and tournament favorites are -365 to beat the underdog Finns.

I think the oddsmakers are right that USA should be massive faves in this one, so I'm targeting the puckline to bring in some extra value. I like Matt Tkachuk to have a big day and the Americans to dominate, taking USA -1.5 (-134) at  Sportsbook:

The last time we watched Team USA at a major international tournament with NHL players, they stunk. The Americans went 0-3 at the 2016 World Cup, losing to Canada, Europe, and the Czech Republic.

But, this American team is entirely different. They’ve got Auston Matthews, the Tkachuks, a loaded group of offensive defensemen, and the best goalie in the world in Connor Hellebuyck. Sure, we could see upsets in this short tourney, but I don’t think this game is it.

Team USA is the best squad on paper and they should demolish a depleted Finnish team. I like the Americans on the puckline, but you can bet this one USA -2.5 (+132) and maybe even -3.5 (+330) at Sportsbook, if you’re feeling aggressive.

Matt Tkachuk OVER 2.5 Shots, +108 at Sportsbook

Getting plus money on this shot OVER is a steal. Tkachuk averages over three shots per game with Florida this year and has been on fire lately. He’s gone OVER 2.5 SOG in four of his last five games, averaging 5.6 per game in that stretch.

I also just think Tkachuk is going to pick apart this Finnish defense. They’re going to be without Miro Heiskanen, Jani Hakanpaa, and Rasmus Ristolainen — three of their best defenders — for this tournament. Especially with Heiskanen out on the left side, I think Tkachuk (as USA’s top right wing) will feast. The play should go through him and he’ll get his usual quantity of shots.
