    Golden Knights Blow Another Lead To Sharks In Demoralizing Loss

    Vegas fell to the Sharks 5-4 in a shootout Sunday night after holding a 4-2 lead with a little more than two minutes left in regulation. That is about as bad as it gets, especially when you consider what was at stake for the Golden Knights, who also had a power play for the last 1:37 of overtime but could not produce the game-winning goal.

    They had an 11-game winning streak against the Sharks snapped in the process and now face an extremely difficult task of having to win their last three games and get some help from others for any shot at making the playoffs for the fifth consecutive year.

    Vegas will play out the rest of the slate without regular starting goaltender Robin Lehner, who will undergo shoulder surgery. Logan Thompson will continue to fill in for Lehner.

    Stars Looking To Shine In Biggest Game Of The Season At Home

    Dallas is 4-4-2 in its last 10 games, which is slightly worse than the Knights during that same stretch (5-3-2). However, the Stars closed as underdogs in four of their last six losses, with a pick’em defeat thrown in there as well. Only one of them was a truly bad loss, with the Devils serving as the spoilers again.

    Fortunately for the Stars, their last two opponents to close out the regular season at home are the Arizona Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks, and both should result in wins.

    All it will likely take is one more victory for this team to qualify for the postseason as a wild card.
