Knights vs Sharks Betting Odds April 30

The Sharks have been the hottest OVER bet in the NHL

After being humiliated in a 7-0 loss in Game 1, the Sharks bit back in Game 2 to even their series with the Vegas Golden Knights and now will try to get a 2-1 series lead tonight at the SAP Center. The Sharks stole Game 2 in double overtime and should be excited to get back to the Shark Tank, where they are 7-2 SU in their last nine games. San Jose opened as a -120 favorite to knock off the Knights in Game 3.

SHARK BITES
  • The total has gone OVER in five of the Sharks’ last six games at home.
  • The Golden Knights are 10-4 SU and 11-3 ATS in their last 14 games vs their division on the road.
  • San Jose is 2-4 ATS in its last six games vs Vegas.

The Knights face their first adversity in this postseason after sweeping the Kings and Sportsbook the second-round series with a dominant win. Vegas only allowed four goals total in five postseason games prior to Game 2 and looked well on the way to another victory until allowing three goals in the second period to let the pesky Sharks back in the game.

Where the Knights fell short was on the defensive end as they allowed 46 shots and Marc-Andre Fleury was left on his own to make one miraculous save after another. Fleury will be counted on by the Knights to stand tall and his performance on the road this season bodes well for Knights backers as Flower has a 2.11 goals-against-average with a .934 save percentage in 20 starts away from home.

The Sharks, on the other hand, got a huge effort from their defense and a nice bounce-back game from goaltender Martin Jones. Jones was much better in Game 2, stopping 26 shots to keep the Sharks’ heads above water after allowing five goals on 13 shots in Game 1. Logan Couture scored two goals in Game 2 and the San Jose power play has been stellar in the playoffs, notching eight goals and converting 25 percent of its chances with the man advantage. Bettors planning to wager on the Sharks should also know that the home team is 3-1 SU in the last four games in this matchup.

The total opened at 5.5 and trends are pointing to an OVER. The OVER has hit in four of the last six games in this matchup with an average combined score of 6.5 goals per game. When you factor in that the total has gone OVER in 14 of San Jose’s last 20 games, it could be a goalfest on the West Coast.
