Weekend NHL Betting: Ducks hit the pond

Moving up the Stanley Cup odds at the sportsbooks thanks to a strong start to the season, the Anaheim Ducks have back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday this week against the Minnesota Wild and the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Ducks first host the Wild on Friday night, and they already got past Minnesota by a score of 3-1 as a -115 favorite on the NHL betting lines at Bovada back on February 1. Teemu Selanne had three assists for Anaheim in that win, while Viktor Fasth stopped 26 of 27 Wild shots.

Friday's NHL betting slate also includes Edmonton at St. Louis and Columbus at Chicago.

The Ducks are then right back in action on Saturday night as they take on the Coyotes in Phoenix. Those two Western Conference clubs will be meeting for the first time this season, with the Ducks 3-1 over their past four games against the Coyotes. The UNDER had paid out in three of their past four meetings on the totals for bettors at Bovada.

The rest of the NHL schedule for Saturday has Ottawa at Philadelphia, Tampa Bay at Boston, Washington at Winnipeg, New Jersey at Buffalo, Pittsburgh at Montreal, Florida at Carolina, Los Angeles at Vancouver, and Nashville at San Jose.

On Sunday the top NHL betting matchup is then Chicago at Detroit, with the Blackhawks having won four games in a row against the Red Wings including a 2-1 home victory as a -140 favorite at the sportsbooks in their first meeting of the season on January 27.

Also on tap around the NHL on Sunday are Ottawa at the Islanders, Colorado at Columbus, St. Louis at Dallas, Carolina at Florida, Montreal at Boston, Buffalo at the Rangers, Edmonton at Minnesota, and Vancouver at Calgary.
