Brazil Has Not Scored Going Into Final Group Match

Brazil has once again been incredibly unremarkable in international play and has only managed two points through its first two matches in Rio. The hosts of the 2016 Summer Games will have one more shot to get a win in group play and will have to face Group A leader Denmark in the effort on Wednesday.

  • Brazil has yet to score a goal at these Olympics.
  • Denmark is the only team in Group A with a win and the only team with a goal.
  • Brazil has owned 64% possession through the first two games.

The Brazilians came into the Olympics as heavy favorites to take gold in the soccer tournament and remain so despite their lackluster 0-0-2 start. They have struggled to get any offense going so far and will have to break out of their funk if they hope to move past the group stage.

The Danes find themselves in the lead of Group A after a 1-0 win and a 0-0 tie. They are a part of the lowest scoring group at these Olympics and if they can manage another goal, it might just be enough to beat a Brazilian team that continues to disappoint on the world stage.

Brazil is currently pegged on Bovada as the -325 moneyline favorite while the Danish carry a line of +850. The spread is set with the hosts favored by 1.5 goals but with the way they haven’t been scoring, -105 for the Denmark spread seems like pretty good value.
