Olympic Beach Volleyball Odds: Norway vs Russia For Gold

Check out Odds Shark's best bets and preview for Tokyo 2020 Olympic beach volleyball odds.

There are few events at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics that seemed to be as wide open as beach volleyball.

Sure, there were the favorites, but oddsmakers kept Olympic beach volleyball odds close enough that bettors weren’t able to simply throw down some cash on a couple of heavily favored teams and sit back and relax.

With the American duo of Klineman/Ross taking the gold in the women's bracket, the men's medals are all that's left to determine.

Oddsmakers at BetUS have Olympic beach volleyball odds covered and still list the Norwegian pair of Anders Mol and Christian Sorum as favorites for the gold medal.

Mol/Sorum (NOR, -180)

Olympic beach volleyball odds on the men’s side begin with a conversation about the Norwegian duo of Mol and Sorum. Considered the up-and-coming team to beat in the sport, the pair would be the first men from Norway to ever win a medal in this event if they can live up to their promise.

The duo did struggle a bit in the preliminary round as they lost 2-0 to the Russian pair of Semenov and Leshukov (+700) in Pool A play, but avenged that loss with a 2-0 win over the Russians in the quarterfinal.

This pair has started to heat up at the perfect time, and took care of business in the semifinal with a 2-0 win over the surprising Latvian side of Plavins/Tocs, who took down the Brazilian team of Evandro/Schmidt (Schmidt won gold in 2016) and then another highly ranked Brazilian team in the quarterfinal.

Stoyanovskiy/Krasilnikov (+140)

This Russian pair won the gold in the 2019 world championship tournament and looked fantastic taking down the strong German pair of Thole/Wickler in the quarterfinal and then the Qatari pair of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan, who had been dominant throughout the tournament.

After a somewhat rocky start in the preliminary round, the Russians also advanced through their Round of 16 match in impressive fashion, beating a solid Spanish team before topping the Germans.

Though this will be their toughest test to date, this team has the pedigree and longer odds that make them an attractive bet at +140.

The Qatari team of Younousse/Tijan could have easily won the gold in this event. They were maybe the best team through the tournament until running into the hot Russian side.

They are deservedly heavy favorites for bronze over the surprise Latvians.
