International hoops bettors will be eagerly anticipating Lithuania’s clash with Croatia at Carioca Arena Monday when group phase competition continues at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The Lithuanians (3-1), who were listed as 5.5-point favorites at the time of writing, saw their unbeaten run in Rio come to a screaching halt at the hands of Spain. The Spaniards hammered Lithuania 109-59, shutting down a Lithuania offense that was averaging 84 points over its first three games.
Croatia (2-2) fell to Nigeria 90-76 in its last outing, a huge blow against the weakest team in Group B. This is a must-win game for the Croats in order to advance to the next round, but if they do get there they’ll need someone other than Bojan Bogdanovic to step up.
Bogdanovic leads the tournament in scoring, averaging 22.5 points and shooting 52.5 percent through four games. Against Nigeria, his teammates combined to go just 18-of-50 from the field.
