We’re in the final month of the 2010s and that means lots of introspection, Christmas decorations and poker action. If you’re in a cold climate, there’s no better way to ring in the holiday season than curling up by the fire with a great juicy table. If you celebrate Christmas in the tropics, then just do the same while you’re splayed out on the beach.
Now that you’ve gotten your holiday poker spot settled, let’s check out some of the promotions.
1. A PokerStars Christmas Festival
The Christmas Festival at PokerStars started off early, kicking off on November 21 and running until December 26. In that time, you can try to win a share of the $5 million that PokerStars is putting up in guarantees and prizes. The first $1 million has already been distributed, though. The $1-million freeroll took place on December 1, but there are still daily prizes, a mid-month bonanza and a special $2-million guarantee tournament.
From now until December 25, you’ll be able to open a door on the PokerStars Christmas Calendar. Prizes include PokerStars promos like CardHunt, Challenges, Freerolls, Christmas giveaways and Mega Bonuses.
Then there’s a special event on December 11, the MicroMillions Marathon. There will be 25 events that’ll culminate with a $22 buy-in Main Event with a $1-million guarantee. After the calendar is done and the Christmas gifts have been opened, there’s one more special event.
On December 26, PokerStars will be hosting a special $2-million guarantee prize pool Monday Million with a $215 buy-in. If that’s a bit beyond your Christmas bankroll, there are plenty of satellites that start at just $1. The grand prize will be a minimum of $200,000, which should be enough to mitigate your Christmas expenses and start the new decade off strong.
2. A Global Christmas
Global Poker is offering an advent calendar of promotions with its 25 Days of Christmas promotion.
The site is giving out Gold Coins, Sweeps Coins, special avatars and plenty more. To stay up to date with everything they’re offering, follow them on social media, check your email or check the lobby often to see what that day will bring. Some of the challenges will be social media competitions or limited-time purchase offers. There are also a few different freerolls going on.
If you play Gold Coin games and see a total of 750 flops before December 29, then you’ll get an entry to the Santa’s Gold Coin Dash Freeroll on Sunday, December 29 at 2 p.m. ET. If you get to 1,500 flops on Sweeps Coins ring games, you’ll get an entry to Santa’s Sweeps Coins Dash, which is also being held on December 29 at 2 p.m. ET.
On top of that, Global Poker is celebrating its three-year anniversary and is holding an anniversary scrimmage tournament which they’re expecting to be the largest tournament they’ve ever held.
3. Gifts Galore at Sportsbook
Sportsbook is taking a different approach to the advent calendar and giving every player a chance to win a prize every day all the way up until Christmas Day. Then if you want to play some poker on Christmas Day, Sportsbook is giving away a tournament package on December 25. They have yet to release details about the package, but they say it’s amazing.
On the days leading up to Christmas, all you have to do is log in and opt in to the advent calendar promotion once you hit the home page. After that, as long as you score a single cashback point that day, you’ll be eligible for a number of prizes that include: Sit & Go Jackpot tickets, MTT tickets, sports betting bonuses, free spins and cashback points.
4. An Early Christmas Present for Pennsylvania
This one isn’t necessarily Christmas-themed and is regionally dependent, but it’s definitely a welcome Christmas gift for Pennsylvania residents who’ve been waiting for online poker in the Keystone State.
PokerStars officially launched in Pennsylvania in early November and they’re kicking things off with the Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker, a 50-tournament series that’s running from November 30 to December 16. The buy-ins will range from $35 to $750 and will culminate with a $300 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 on December 15. You can also luck your way into a Main Event ticket. PokerStars is raffling 25 Main Event tickets to players who deposit at least $50 and use the code “PACOOP” before 1:59 p.m. ET on December 15.
