2016 Brasileirão Opening Weekend Preview

This weekend marks the Sportsbook of the Brazilian Serie A football season with a slew of games on the board both Saturday and Sunday.

Corinthians is the defending champion having won its sixth Série A title in the club’s history last season. Gremio finished third in the league table on 68 points last season – 13 behind Corinthians. In the two meetings last season, the pair drew 1-1 at Corinthians with Gremio winning the reverse fixture 3-1 earlier in the campaign.

Both of these clubs will more than likely be fighting for the title come season’s end, so this is a very fitting marquee matchup for the Sportsbook weekend in the Brasileirão.
