The USMNT kicks off their Copa América 2024 campaign on home soil in Sunday June 23, from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. On top of that fans (and bettors) are spoiled today with Marcelo Bielsa's star studded Uruguay taking on Panama.
Let's dive into all the USA vs. Bolivia and Uruguay vs Panama odds and our Copa América expert picks.
USA vs. Bolivia Copa América Odds
Team | Moneyline | Draw | Total | Spread |
---|---|---|---|---|
USA | -512 | +628 | Over 3 Goals (+104) | -2 (+107) |
Bolivia | +1512 | +628 | Under 3 Goals (-117) | +2 (-118) |
Odds as of June 23
Nick Holz's Pick: USA -2 (+107)
Craig Berhalter's squad will be chomping at the bit to get their Copa América tournament underway. Even the most ardent USMNT supporters couldn't have earmarked a better opponent for their first match.
Bolivia sit last in the CONMEBOL and will be hard pressed to win a point in a talented Group C. They've lost by multiple goals to Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador and Columbia by multiple goals in recent times.
While the USA isn't on those teams level, I expect the Americans to be amped up on home soil. Look for Folarin Bolagun, Tim Weah, and Christian Pulisic to run wild.
Michel Anderson's Pick: OVER 3 Goals (+104)
I would have taken USA O2.5 at -104 but the price for O3 on the entire game was a better price at -101. It also gives me an "out" with the possibility of a push if we see exactly three goals in this one. Bolivia has one only won once in 2023, a 2-0 win over Peru. They've got five other loses at a combined score of -12. They're just dreadful and could be the worst side in this tournament.
The US might have been pummeled 5-1 by Colombia but they responded with a strong 1-1 draw against Brazil a few days later. Before those last two friendlies the US is 5-5-2 with a wicked +20 goal differential. The Americans should run up the score against Bolivia.
Uruguay vs. Panama Copa América Odds
Team | Moneyline | Draw | Total | Spread |
---|---|---|---|---|
Uruguay | -321 | +468 | Over 2.75 Goals (+105) | -1.5 (-104) |
Panama | +975 | +468 | Under 2.75 Goals (-116) | +1.5 (-104) |
Odds as of June 23
Michel Anderson's Pick: Uruguay First Half Moneyline (-126)
Bielsa's Uruguay are heavy favorites in this one at -337 on the moneyline. Uruguay odds drop to a much more valuable -126 on the first half moneyline. In their last six matches, Uruguay have won the first half five times with a +7 goal differential. The only time they didn't win the first half was in a friendly to Ireland where Mathias Olivera scored an own goal. For Panama, they've gone 3-2-5 in the first half over their last 10 games. Take those three wins with a grain of salt, they came against Bolivia, Qatar and Costa Rice. Not really the cream of the crop.I'm sure Uruguay gets a lead in the first 45 as they cruise to a Matchday 1 win.
Nick Holz's Pick: Uruguay -1.5 (-104)
As Michel attests to, Bielsa ball has been unbelievably effective for La Celeste. Impressive victories over Argentina, Brazil and Mexico will buoy Uruguayan attitudes heading into the Copa.
The likes of Real Madrid's Federico Valverde, Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, and Barcelona's Ronald Araujo give Uruguay one of the most talented squads in the world. Bielsa's aggressive pressing scheme won't give Panama a moment of respite. When his starters tire, there's another world class player sitting on the bench. I like Uruguay to win this game by multiple goals.
